FRC: Fiend Skills
Fiend Skills are one of the areas in FRC that most easily affect results. It is recommended to create attackable parts in Environment Settings first, then create Fiend skills, and finally select the skill used in each Fiend Turn.
1. Enter Fiend Skill Settings
You can enter Fiend Skill Settings from two places:
- "Fiend Skill Settings" in Environment Settings
- The "Fiend Skills" tab in a Round's Fiend-related settings window

Fiend skills are shared settings. Once created, they can be reused in different Rounds' Fiend turns.
2. Create a skill

After clicking "Add Skill", set:
- Skill name
- Attack source cell
- Damage group (optional)
- Attached state effects (optional)
If a skill does not deal damage and only applies states, you may only configure state effects. However, at least one of damage type or state type must be present.
3. Attack source cell

The attack source cell indicates which Fiend part launches this attack. This may affect the Fiend skill's hit positions and later hit data tracing, so it still needs to be set.
When characters counterattack the Fiend, the default counterattack target is not the attack source cell, but the "Fiend Head Position". Configure Fiend Head Position in Environment and Teams.
How to set it:
- Click "Select Source Cell".
- Choose a source cell from the Fiend attackable parts.
- Confirm that the source cell label is displayed correctly.
4. Damage groups

Damage groups describe the damage dealt by a skill. Common fields include:
- Trigger timing
- Damage type
- Duration
- Hit count
- Damage value per Hit
How to use:
- Click "Add Damage Group".
- Choose damage type and trigger timing.
- Enter Hit count and default damage.
- Click "Create Damage List".
- Adjust each Hit's damage according to the in-game skill data.
If the same skill has direct damage and later damage over time, create multiple damage groups.
5. Target mode and skill range

Target mode determines who the Fiend skill treats as the main target:
- Main target
- Frontmost
- Fixed target
- Skip
Skill range defines which cells the Fiend skill covers. Set it according to the direction shown by the in-game skill, and FRC will apply the corresponding direction and range.
If you are unsure about the hit result, create the skill and return to Fiend Turn to check this turn's hit preview.
6. Attached state effects

Attached state effects represent additional Buffs / Debuffs or special states applied by a Fiend skill.
Basic flow:
- Create or select a state Preset.
- Select the apply range.
- If the apply range is Fiend custom range, choose the Fiend cells to apply it to.
Common apply ranges include:
- All allies
- Entire Fiend
- Hit allies
- Fiend custom range
Note: For "vulnerability" effects the Fiend applies to itself, choose the Debuff category and set the target to the Fiend.
7. Apply to Fiend Turn

After creating the skill:
- Return to the target Round's Fiend Turn.
- Click "Fiend Settings".
- Select the created Fiend skill in "This Turn Skill".
- Check whether the hit preview matches in-game behavior.
If the hit preview does not match expectation, recheck skill range, target mode, or this Round's character positions.
Usage tips
- Map one in-game skill to one FRC Fiend skill so it can be reused across Rounds.
- Use names that distinguish normal skills from conditional skills, such as "S1 - SkillName" and "C1 - SkillName".
- Create the most commonly used Fiend skills first, then add special states or damage over time.
- After adjusting a skill, return to Fiend Turn and confirm the hit preview.
- If the Fiend performs an instant death attack this turn or does nothing during Break, set the Fiend action to no action in Fiend action settings.
